Netball Australia Joins Forces With HCF

Netball Australia is proud to announce a three-year partnership with Australia’s largest not-for-profit health fund HCF.

The partnership will support our nation of netball champions, from grassroots to elite levels, and empower Australians of all ages to lead healthier lives and build stronger communities beyond the court.

The alliance between Netball Australia and HCF reflects and celebrates a mutual focus on going above and beyond for members. Both organisations were recognised in the 2019 Roy Morgan Net Trust Score Survey as the most trusted health insurance brand and the most trusted sport in Australia, respectively.

This partnership expands HCF’s involvement in netball beyond its pre-existing principal partner relationship with Suncorp Super Netball team, GIANTS Netball.

Through the partnership, HCF is now a major partner of the Suncorp Super Netball league and Suncorp Super Netball teams: West Coast Fever, Adelaide Thunderbirds, Queensland Firebirds and Sunshine Coast Lightning.

The partnership will also align HCF as a major partner of NetSetGO, Netball Australia’s national grassroots program for children aged 5-10, and become a community partner* for all state-based netball associations and clubs.

Netball Australia CEO Marne Fechner is delighted that Netball Australia is joining forces with HCF, an organisation with values closely aligned to those of Netball Australia and the broader netball community.

“For more than 90 years, netball has been providing an opportunity for participants – from grassroots through to the elite – to stay active, social and to improve their health and wellbeing,” she said.

“HCF’s vision for a healthy Australia resonates strongly with Netball Australia and we’re looking forward to a long partnership that will benefit netballers right across Australia.”

HCF CEO Sheena Jack is delighted that HCF is partnering with an organisation that shares so many of its own values.

“We are two organisations that put the health and wellbeing of our members first. Together with Netball Australia, we look forward to expanding our support for the netball family who are the backbone of this unique and caring sporting community,” she said.

“Netball is the most popular women’s sport in Australia, with over one million players across the country and a passionate community powering the growth of the sport.

“It doesn’t matter what level you play at or if you are someone who cheers on your family and friends from the sideline, we want to work with the wider netball family to elevate the role of women’s sport in the community and create a healthier future for all Australians.”

*The HCF partnership excludes Netball Victoria.
