ATP Tennis Podcast: Former Wimbledon Champ Krajicek On Key To His Success

This week on the ATP Tennis Podcast…

RICHARD KRAJICEK ON THE CHANGE TO HIS GAME THAT IGNITED HIS CAREER – “I changed to a one-handed backhand, and it wasn’t that great a shot. It didn’t make a big improvement in my game, but what it did do is that it was so vulnerable that people were attacking my backhand. So the only way to avoid someone coming into the net on my backhand is if I beat them to it and that’s when I became a serve and volley player.”

DUTCH JOURNALIST DAVID AVAKIAN ON TENNIS IN HOLLAND – “Tennis is the second sport, football is the number one and then you have things like field hockey and cycling. It grew during COVID again and it’s been paired with Padel a lot, but I prefer the balls on the strings, it’s just better than that flat thing.”

COACH MARIUSZ FYRSTENBERG ON TENNIS IN POLAND – “A lot of things changed when Agnieska Radwanska started to play well. Then we had Jerzy Janowiz who was an iconic player and right now, Iga Swiatek and Hubie Hurkacz are here, so I think we’re safe for years to come.”
