Big takeaways from NFL draft quarterback pro days: Malik Willis’ potential on full display

On Tuesday, Liberty quarterback Malik Willis — one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2022 NFL draft — held his pro day for scouts and evaluators. It followed Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett‘s impressive Monday workout and is part of a three-day stretch of pro days featuring some of the best signal-callers in the class. I’ve been on hand to see Willis and Pickett throw, and I’m off to Oxford, Mississippi, to watch Ole Miss’ Matt Corral — who has been recovering from an ankle injury — on Wednesday.

Willis followed Pickett with another great throwing session. He once again demonstrated his impressive arm strength and showed just what he is capable of doing on the field. It will be interesting to see whether it will be Pickett, Willis or a surprise as the first QB selected next month. Evaluators for QB-needy teams now have plenty of tape, the Senior Bowl, the combine and pro day workouts to help inform the way they stack this class.

Here are some of my big takeaways from Willis’ and Pickett’s pro day workouts and what comes next for the talented quarterbacks. And check back Wednesday afternoon for Corral’s pro day takeaways.
