Who’s Playing

Cincinnati @ Kansas City

Regular Season Records: Cincinnati 10-7; Kansas City 12-5

What to Know

On Sunday at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium at 3 p.m. ET, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals will grapple for the championship and a ticket to the Super Bowl. Kansas City is out to keep their eight-game home win streak alive.

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Chiefs ultimately got the result they were hoping for last week with a 42-36 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Kansas City’s win was all the more impressive since Buffalo was averaging only 17 points allowed on the season. QB Patrick Mahomes had a stellar game for Kansas City as he passed for three TDs and 378 yards on 44 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 69 yards. Mahomes’ 64-yard touchdown toss up the middle to WR Tyreek Hill in the fourth quarter made for one of the most memorable moments of the evening.

Special teams collected 12 points for Kansas City. K Harrison Butker delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.

Meanwhile, Cincinnati earned some more postseason success in their contest last week. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Tennessee Titans 19-16. The Bengals’ RB Joe Mixon did his thing and punched in one rushing touchdown.

Most of the squad’s points came courtesy of special teams, which contributed 13. K Evan McPherson booted in four field goals, the longest a 54-yarder in the second quarter, which ultimately accounted for the difference in the game.

The Chiefs are the favorite in this one, with an expected 7-point margin of victory. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread as they are currently on a two-game streak of ATS wins.

It was close but no cigar for Kansas City as they fell 34-31 to Cincinnati when the two teams last met earlier in the regular season. Maybe Kansas City will have more luck at home instead of on the road? Watch the matchup and check back on CBS Sports for all the details.
