Five things to know about the Pelicans on Dec. 18, 2019

1)      Among the defeats on New Orleans’ current losing streak, Tuesday’s may have been the one that most easily could’ve been a victory. The Pelicans had a chance to go ahead near the end of the regulation, but ended up losing 108-101 in overtime to Brooklyn.

2)      Watch David Griffin’s interview on Fox Sports New Orleans, providing an update on Zion Williamson.

3)      Watch postgame reaction from Brandon Ingram, Jrue Holiday and Alvin Gentry.

4)      New Orleans (6-22) jumps back into game action immediately, visiting Minnesota tonight at 7. The Pelicans arrived in Minneapolis early this morning after a flight of two-plus hours. Pregame coverage is at 6:30 on TV and radio. There will be an injury report on Wednesday’s game available in the early afternoon. JJ Redick missed Tuesday’s game vs. the Nets due to left groin soreness.

5)      On Western Conference Wednesday, it’s been an odd season so far because with only a week left before Christmas, the eighth-place team is still multiple games below .500. Sacramento currently is in the No. 8 spot at just 12-15, which is 6.5 games ahead of New Orleans. The Pelicans are only in front of Golden State in the conference, with a Friday matchup looming in the brand-new Chase Center. No team has reached the playoffs in the West with a losing record since the 1990s.
