1)      It was a positive night pretty much all the way around for New Orleans on Friday, as the Pelicans held on to beat Miami, while receiving favorable outcomes on the scoreboard across the Western Conference. Memphis lost at Dallas, allowing New Orleans (27-36) to gain a game on the eighth-place Grizzlies (31-32), reducing that deficit to four games. Portland and San Antonio also lost, moving New Orleans to within a half game of Portland (28-36) and into a virtual tie with San Antonio (26-35). Saturday’s key game on the scoreboard features Memphis hosting Atlanta at 7 p.m. Central.
