DUBS HOST MAGIC FOR LONE VISIT TO CHASE CENTER
The Warriors wrap up their three-game homestand with a Saturday evening matchup against the Orlando Magic. This will mark Orlando’s first visit to Chase Center and the only one they will make to the Bay Area this season. The two teams went down to the wire in this season’s prior matchup in Orlando, but the Warriors didn’t make enough plays down the stretch of a 100-96 loss. The Dubs will look to get that one back as they look to put an end to their 10-game losing streak.

SUPER SUBS
Last season, the Warriors’ most glaring weakness was perceived to be its lack of depth. This season, the bench is a strength, and that has really held up since the calendar turned to 2020. In the New Year, the Warriors are fourth in the NBA in bench scoring (49.3 ppg). The head of the snake in that department is Alec Burks, who had a team-high 25 points in Thursday’s loss to Denver. Burks tied a career-high with four made 3-pointers in that game, but he’s not the only one capable of knocking down shots from the perimeter. Omari Spellman has shot 16-for-29 from distance since Jan. 1 and rookie guard Jordan Poole has now made at least two 3-pointers in three straight games. As a team, the Warriors have been on-again and off-again in terms of their 3-point success, but the Warriors can take comfort that they have so many threats from deep, both in the starting lineup and coming off the bench.

ORLANDO SCOUTING REPORT
Saturday’s game will be the fifth stop of a six-game road trip for the Magic. Prior to Orlando’s loss to the Clippers on Thursday, the Magic had won four of their last five games and six of their previous eight, including a Wednesday night win over the Lakers that ended their nine-game winning streak. The Magic don’t score a lot of points, but they allow even fewer, yielding the fewest amount of points in the league. Additionally, the Magic are fifth in defensive rating, fifth in blocks and third in steals. Offensively, guard Evan Fournier, who had a career-high 32 points with six made 3-pointers against the Warriors last month, leads seven Magic players scoring in double figures with 19.2 points per game. Right behind him is Nikola Vucevic, who has bounced back from a slow start to the season and has averaged over 20 points a game for the last month. Bay Area native Aaron Gordon and guard Terrence Ross add some more scoring punch, and 2017 No. 1 pick Markelle Fultz has recently played some of the best ball of his career, as evidenced by his triple-double in Wednesday’s win over the Lakers. Orlando is a deep team with postseason aspirations, making Saturday an interesting matchup on Warriors Ground.
