No. 3 seed Sofia Kenin headlines the semifinalists in Guangzhou, with three unseeded players also looking to reach the final.

Kenin, a winner of two titles so far in three final appearances in 2019, is the lone player of the four to raise a trophy this season.

2011 US Open champion Samantha Stosur is contesting her first WTA semifinal in over a year, having last featured in this round at the 2018 Mallorca Open.

The Aussie is a winner of three straight matches for the first time this season this week, and looks to advance to her first final in two-and-a-half years as she faces Viktorija Golubic.

Anna Blinkova rounds out the semifinalists, as the 20-year-old Russian looks to advance to her first WTA singles final when she faces Kenin.

The champion at the WTA 125K event in New Haven following a first round loss to Naomi Osaka at the US Open, the in-form Blinkova is 12-3 in her last three tournaments.
