The Atlanta Hawks will play host again and welcome the Miami Heat to State Farm Arena, where tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET Friday. Both teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins.

While not quite a landslide, the matchup between Atlanta and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday was still a pretty decisive one as the Hawks wrapped it up with a 134-122 win at home. The victory came about thanks to a strong surge after the first quarter to overcome a 42-26 deficit. It was another big night for Atlanta’s point guard Trae Young, who shot 6-for-10 from downtown and finished with a double-double on 37 points and 14 dimes along with five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Miami had enough points to win and then some against the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday, taking their contest 104-92. Miami can attribute much of their success to center Bam Adebayo, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards in addition to five steals, and small forward Caleb Martin, who had 26 points in addition to eight boards. Martin’s performance made up for a slower game against the Toronto Raptors on Monday.

Barring any buzzer beaters, Atlanta is expected to win a tight contest. They are currently two-for-two against the spread in their most recent games, a trend bettors might want to take into account.

The wins brought the Hawks up to 19-25 and the Heat to 29-16. Two defensive numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Atlanta has allowed their opponents to shoot 46.80% from the floor on average, which is the fifth highest shooting percentage allowed in the league. Miami’s defense has more to brag about, as they they enter the contest with only 103.9 points allowed per game on average, good for fourth best in the league.
