Who’s Playing

South Florida @ Houston

Current Records: South Florida 6-10; Houston 15-2

What to Know

The South Florida Bulls haven’t won a matchup against the #10 Houston Cougars since Jan. 23 of 2016, but they’ll be looking to end the drought on Tuesday. The Bulls and Houston will face off in an American Athletic battle at 8 p.m. ET at Fertitta Center. South Florida isn’t expected to win, but seeing as the odds didn’t stop them last game, maybe the squad has another upset up their sleeve.

Everything went South Florida’s way against the UCF Knights this past Saturday as they made off with a 75-51 win. South Florida’s guard Javon Greene filled up the stat sheet, shooting 5-for-10 from beyond the arc and finishing with 19 points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, Houston narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Tulsa Golden Hurricane 66-64. The overall outcome was to be expected, but the Golden Hurricane made it more of a contest than the oddsmakers had predicted. Guard Kyler Edwards took over for the Cougars, finishing with 29 points (a whopping 44% of their total).

The Bulls are now 6-10 while Houston sits at 15-2. Two numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: South Florida is 353rd worst in college basketball in points per game, with only 58.9 on average. Houston’s defense has more to brag about, as they they enter the game with only 57.9 points allowed per game on average, good for seventh best in college basketball. So the cards are definitely stacked in their favor.
