Who’s Playing

North Carolina @ Kansas

Regular Season Records: North Carolina 29-9; Kansas 33-6

What to Know

Cue the food, friends, and football rivalries: Super Bowl Sunday is only hours away. After a week of well-deserved rest, the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Kansas Jayhawks will brawl for championship honors at Caesars Superdome at 9:20 p.m. ET.

The North Carolina Tar Heels earned some more postseason success in their contest this past Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 81-77 win over the Duke Blue Devils. UNC can attribute much of their success to guard Caleb Love, who had 28 points, and guard RJ Davis, who had 18 points along with seven boards.

Meanwhile, the #3 Kansas Jayhawks strolled past the Villanova Wildcats with points to spare this past Saturday, taking the game 81-65. The Jayhawks got double-digit scores from four players: forward David McCormack (25), guard Ochai Agbaji (21), forward Jalen Wilson (11), and guard Christian Braun (10). That makes it four consecutive games in which Jalen Wilson has had at least 11 rebounds.

UNC is expected to lose this next one by 4.5. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread, however, as they are currently on a five-game streak of ATS wins.

A pair of offensive stats to keep an eye on: The Tar Heels come into the matchup boasting the 28th most points per game in college basketball at 78.1. Kansas has displayed some offensive firepower of their own as they rank 17th in college basketball when it comes to field goal percentage, with 47.90% on the season.
