What to Know
The Fresno State Bulldogs are 10-2 against the San Jose State Spartans since January of 2016, and they’ll have a chance to extend that success Tuesday. Fresno State and SJSU will face off in a Mountain West battle at 11 p.m. ET at Provident Credit Union Event Center. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
The Bulldogs entered their game against the Boise State Broncos this past Friday without any home losses — but there’s a first time for everything. Fresno State was within striking distance but couldn’t close the gap as they fell 68-63 to Boise State. Guard Isaiah Hill had a pretty forgettable game, finishing with only eight points on 3-for-10 shooting in his 38 minutes on the court.
Meanwhile, the contest between SJSU and the New Mexico Lobos this past Friday was not a total blowout, but with the Spartans falling 86-70 on the road, it was darn close to turning into one. Forward Shon Robinson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he had 17 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
The Bulldogs are the favorite in this one, with an expected 11-point margin of victory. Those burned by picking them against the spread this past Friday might want to keep in mind that the team has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.
