How to watch Spurs vs. Rockets: Live stream, TV channel, start time for Friday’s NBA game

Through 3 Quarters

Only one more quarter stands between the San Antonio Spurs and the win they were favored to collect going into this night. Three quarters in and their offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating the Houston Rockets 97-80.

The Spurs have enjoyed the tag-team combination of small forward Keldon Johnson and point guard Dejounte Murray. The former has 24 points along with six rebounds, while the latter has 14 points and eight assists in addition to five boards and four steals. One thing to keep an eye out for is Doug McDermott’s foul situation as he currently sits at four.

Houston has been led by shooting guard Josh Christopher, who so far has 16 points.

Houston has lost 91% of the time when they were down heading into the fourth quarter this year, so this one seems just about wrapped up

Current Records: Houston 15-36; San Antonio 19-34

What to Know

The Houston Rockets have enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they must head out on the road. Houston and the San Antonio Spurs will face off in a Southwest Division battle at 8:30 p.m. ET on Friday at AT&T Center. The Rockets aren’t expected to win, but seeing as the odds didn’t stop them last game, maybe the squad has another upset up their sleeve.

Houston had enough points to win and then some against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, taking their contest 115-104. Houston can attribute much of their success to shooting guard Jalen Green, who had 21 points and five assists in addition to five boards, and center Christian Wood, who had 21 points along with seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, the game between San Antonio and the Miami Heat on Thursday was not a total blowout, but with San Antonio falling 112-95 at home, it was darn close to turning into one. The Spurs were down 88-66 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. Small forward Lonnie Walker IV wasn’t much of a difference maker for San Antonio; Walker IV finished with only seven points on 2-for-10 shooting in his 26 minutes on the court.

Houston’s win lifted them to an irreparable 15-36 while San Antonio’s defeat dropped them down to 19-34. Allowing an average of 116.69 points per game, the Rockets haven’t exactly asserted themselves on the defensive end. We’ll see if they can patch up the holes in their defense before their upcoming matchup.
