Jazz vs. Rockets: How to watch live stream, TV channel, NBA start time

Through 3 Quarters

The Utah Jazz were the heavy favorites here for a reason. After three quarters it’s looking more and more like their high-powered offense is just too much for the Houston Rockets as Utah lead 100-78.

The Jazz have been led by shooting guard Donovan Mitchell, who so far has shot 5-for-9 from downtown and has recorded 23 points, seven dimes and five boards. Small forward Jae’Sean Tate (14 points), shooting guard Jalen Green (13 points), and center Christian Wood (12 points) have been the top scorers for Houston. Jae’Sean Tate does need to be careful, however, as he is in foul trouble with five.

Halftime deficits have spelled doom for Houston, who have lost 92% of the games in which they were down going into the the fourth quarter.

What to Know

This Monday, the Houston Rockets are hoping to patch up the holes in a defense that has allowed an average of 117.29 points per game. After a few days’ rest for both teams, they and the Utah Jazz will meet up at 9 p.m. ET Feb. 14 at Vivint Arena. Utah will be strutting in after a victory while the Rockets will be stumbling in from a defeat.

The contest between Houston and the Toronto Raptors last week was not a total blowout, but with Houston falling 139-120 at home, it was darn close to turning into one. Point guard Kevin Porter put forth a good effort for the losing side as he shot 6-for-9 from downtown and finished with 30 points and eight dimes.

Meanwhile, while not quite a landslide, the matchup between Utah and the Orlando Magic this past Friday was still a pretty decisive one as Utah wrapped it up with a 114-99 win at home. The Jazz can attribute much of their success to center Hassan Whiteside, who dropped a double-double on 18 rebounds and 15 points, and power forward Royce O’Neale, who had 14 points and five assists.

The Rockets are the clear underdogs, so they’re hoping it’s the size of the fight that determines this one. They have failed bettors playing the spread in their past four games, so buyers beware.

Houston didn’t have too much breathing room in their contest with Utah in the teams’ previous meeting last month, but they still walked away with a 116-111 win. Will Houston repeat their success, or does Utah have a better game plan this time around? We’ll find out soon enough.
