TOP STORY: United turn to Donnarumma as De Gea ‘rejects final offer’
With Paris Saint-Germain preparing a £60 million bid for David De Gea, the Sun reports that the goalkeeper has turned down a final contract offer from Manchester United, with AC Milan keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma being lined up as a replacement.
De Gea is reportedly demanding £350,000-a-week to continue at Old Trafford, but United are not willing to offer him that. PSG, on the other hand, may be happy to pay it — but should the Ligue 1 champions choose to wait until the end of next season, De Gea’s contract at Old Trafford will have expired and they could snap him up on a free transfer.
A summer of significant overhaul is expected at United after their failure to qualify for the Champions League, but they could make the most of Milan’s possible failure to do the same. Donnarumma would be available for around £65m, Italian outlet Calciomercato reports, and the 20-year-old would cement the No. 1 spot for a decade.

15.50 BST: Managerial news now — Italian news agency AGI has claimed a source has confirmed that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola will replace Max Allegri at Juventus. It says Guardiola will sign the deal on June 4, with his unveiling set for June 14 — but City board member Alberto Galassi has called that an “unfounded rumour.”
15.30 BST: Arsenal have been linked with Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser for a while now, and the Independent says they plan to “firm up their interest” after the Europa League final against Chelsea.
14.36 BST: PSG coach Thomas Tuchel believes star players Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will stay at the Parc des Princes, telling a news conference: “As coach, I say yes. The club has also given its position on these two players. However, it is football and the transfer window can be crazy. So, we will see. Whatever happens, we will always adapt. I am not naive.”
13.55 BST: Transfer woe for Manchester United, according to the Mirror, which reports that their plans have suffered a setback as Manchester City “close in on the £52m signing of Joao Cancelo from Juventus.”
13.01 BST: Atletico Madrid right-back Juanfran Torres has said goodbye after eight seasons with the club.
“These have been marvellous years, the best of my career,” he told a farewell event at the Wanda Metropolitano. “I arrived a Viking [Real Madrid fan] and I am leaving an Indian [Atletico supporter]. I am proud people see me as a legend of this club — that is incredible. I hope to be back soon, this is my home.”
Marca reported that the 34-year-old could finish his career alongside Fernando Torres and David Villa in Japan.
12.17 BST: Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling has said he hopes to play in the United States at some stage of his career.
Sterling, the Football Writers’ Player of the Year, told a conference in New York he was surprised by the level of enthusiasm for football in the U.S. and expected the sport to continue to grow.
11.50 BST: Everton have been linked with a move for River Plate midfielder Santiago Sosa, but the Liverpool Echo reports that “the Blues have no plans to act on their interest at this stage.”
11.19 BST: Arsenal head of football Raul Sanllehi has said the Gunners are in a strong position in the transfer market and have spoken to a number of players, but qualification for the Champions League could be a decisive factor in whether they secure their targets.
Arsenal can qualify for the Champions League if they beat Chelsea in the Europa League final, but will miss out for a third consecutive season if they lose after finishing fifth in the Premier League.
10.38 BST: Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Arsenal are all interested in Espanyol defender Mario Hermoso after his outstanding season in La Liga, Spanish paper Sport reports.
10.17 BST: Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski is keen to link up with Manchester City star Leroy Sane at the Allianz Arena. Amid reports that City could be willing to let Germany international Sane move on, kicker quoted Lewandowski as saying: “He’s a big player with a lot of quality and potential.
“I’ve seen quite a few times how good he is. Players like him can improve the team from the very first game.”
09.57 BST: New Brighton boss Graham Potter is interested in striking a loan deal for Chelsea defender Reece James, who excelled on loan at Championship side Wigan as they secured safety.
09.38 BST: Luka Modric is set to sign a new Real Madrid deal until 2021. The Ballon d’Or winner has a year left on his contract and has been repeatedly linked with Inter Milan. But, with Zidane returning, Marca claims he’s ready to commit his future to Madrid.
09.17 BST: Spanish left-back Sergio Reguilon says he wants to stay at Real Madrid and fight for a starting place next season, amid reports he could leave on a season-long loan.
The 21-year-old was promoted to the first team last summer and had taken Marcelo‘s place as first-choice left-back under former Madrid coach Santiago Solari. However, the return of Zinedine Zidane in March saw Reguilon relegated to the bench, with Marcelo returned to the XI.
He told Cadena Ser radio: “The only thing I have on my mind is to remain at Real Madrid next season. I’m not worried at all, I’m just looking ahead to my future at Madrid. I’m still under contract and I still have many years ahead. I’m going to fight to be Madrid’s starting left-back as soon as possible.”
08.49 BST: Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus want to exchange Miralem Pjanic for Marquinhos.
Juve have some defensive rebuilding to do, but Pjanic would be a massive loss and we’re not sure this deal suits either team. Thomas Tuchel spoke of PSG’s need for defensive players — so if he loses another one, expect fireworks.
08.00 BST: It’s not just among the Manchester United playing staff that big changes are expected this summer — the Sun reports that the club are keen to set up a three-man transfer committee comprising former stars.
It reports that ex-Old Trafford midfielder Darren Fletcher and defender Rio Ferdinand, who have both been named as candidates in the club’s search for a sporting director, are the chief names on the list along with United academy boss Nicky Butt.
One change that has already been made at United’s Carrington training ground has seen reserve team coach Ricky Sbragia leave.

Atletico join Trippier tug-of-war
Tottenham Hotspur full-back Kieran Trippier has some of Europe’s top clubs fighting for his signature, and the Mirror reports that Atletico Madrid have joined the race.
It had previously been reported that Napoli were front-runners, but the departure of 34-year old full-back Juanfran means Atletico are also in need of reinforcements.
Conte the key for Inter-Lukaku deal
Inter Milan are expected to act on their interest in Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku when Antonio Conte takes the reins this weekend, the Times reports.
Conte tried to sign Lukaku when he was in charge of Chelsea in 2017 but faces competition from Juventus and AC Milan this summer.
The Belgium international has said he wants to play in Italy, calling Serie A “a dream — it would really be a dream.”
It is thought that United would not turn down an offer of £75m for Lukaku.

– Moussa Marega is on Wolves’ radar, with coach Nuno Espirito Santo plotting a £30m move for the Mali international, the Mirror reports.
Marega scored 21 goals for Porto this season, and while Wolves didn’t struggle to find the net, they will soon have the added pressure of Europa League fixtures to contend with.
– West Ham striker Lucas Perez, on loan from Arsenal, is being lined up for a £2m transfer to Alaves, according to the Sun. Perez scored six goals in 19 appearances for the Hammers.
