What to Know
After two games on the road, the #24 Marquette Golden Eagles are heading back home. Marquette and the #12 Villanova Wildcats will face off in a Big East battle at 10 p.m. ET Wednesday at Fiserv Forum. If the game is anything like their last meeting in January, where the Golden Eagles won 57-54, we could be in for a big score.
It was close but no cigar for Marquette as they fell 65-63 to the Providence Friars on Sunday. Forward Justin Lewis had a pretty forgettable game, playing for 36 minutes with 4-for-12 shooting and five turnovers.
Meanwhile, Villanova strolled past the St. John’s Red Storm with points to spare this past Saturday, taking the game 73-62. Villanova can attribute much of their success to forward Eric Dixon, who had 15 points in addition to seven rebounds, and guard Collin Gillespie, who had 17 points.
Marquette is expected to lose this next one by 4. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread, however, as they are currently on an eight-game streak of ATS wins.
Villanova’s victory lifted them to 16-5 while Marquette’s loss dropped them down to 15-7. We’ll see if the Wildcats can repeat their recent success or if the Golden Eagles bounce back and reverse their fortune.
