Kieran McKenna has signed a four-year contract extension at Ipswich Town, the club confirmed in a statement on Thursday.
McKenna oversaw Ipswich’s return to the Premier League for the first time since 2002, following back-to-back promotions with the club after taking over in 2021.

The 38-year-old had been linked with the managerial vacancies at Chelsea, Brighton and Manchester United but has decided to pledge his future at Portman Road.
“I am extremely proud to have signed a new contract with the club,” McKenna said.
“We have enjoyed incredible success together over the last two seasons and I’m excited to have the opportunity and responsibility of leading this fantastic club into its first season in the Premier League in 22 years.
“Preparation and planning for the challenge ahead has been ongoing since we won promotion at the beginning of May, with plenty of work still to do before the start of the new season at what is such an exciting time for everyone at the club.
“I am so happy to have committed my future to taking the next step with Ipswich Town and am really excited for what’s ahead as we continue this journey together.”
The former Tottenham midfielder started his coaching career as the under-18s coach at Spurs before joining United in the same role in August 2016.
He was promoted to Jose Mourinho’s backroom staff with the first team ahead of the 2018 season. After Mourinho was sacked following a disappointing start to that campaign, Ole Gunnar Solskjær retained his services throughout his tenure until late 2021.
