Gael Monfils and WTA star Elina Svitolina have become parents after they welcomed their first child into the world, they announced on Saturday morning.

Monfils and Svitolina, who married in July 2021, announced the birth of their daughter Skaï Monfils via social media on Saturday.

“What a night,” Svitolina posted on Twitter and Instagram. “Ladies and gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to Skaï Monfils … Can’t thanks enough my husband to live [through] this unforgettable moment with me.”

Former World No. 1 Daniil Medvedev also joined the fatherhood club when his wife Daria gave birth to their first child on Friday. Medvedev, who married Daria in 2018, wrote on Twitter: “14.10.2022 Welcome to the world baby girl.”
