Who’s Playing

Denver @ Brooklyn

Current Records: Denver 25-21; Brooklyn 29-18

What to Know

The Denver Nuggets have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with the Brooklyn Nets and are hoping to record their first victory since Nov. 14 of 2019. They will face off at 8 p.m. ET Jan. 26 at Barclays Center without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The Nuggets should still be feeling good after a win, while Brooklyn will be looking to get back in the win column.

Denver didn’t have too much breathing room in their contest with the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 110-105 win. The team accrued 69 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win. Denver’s center Nikola Jokic did his thing and almost dropped a triple-double on 28 points, 21 boards, and nine dimes.

Meanwhile, Brooklyn came up short against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, falling 106-96. Point guard James Harden put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted a triple-double on 33 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists. The Beard now has nine triple-doubles this season.

Denver is the favorite in this one, with an expected 4.5-point margin of victory. They have failed bettors playing the spread in their past five games, so buyers beware.

Brooklyn’s loss took them down to 29-18 while Denver’s win pulled them up to 25-21. A win for the Nets would reverse both their bad luck and Denver’s good luck. We’ll see if Brooklyn manages to pull off that tough task or if the Nuggets keep their momentum going instead.
