Lamar Jackson erupted for 324 passing yards and five touchdowns against the Dolphins in Week 1 last year. That performance propelled many daily Fantasy football players to big wins on sites like DraftKings and FanDuel. As he gets set to open his 2020 campaign against the Browns, Jackson is the highest-priced quarterback in the NFL DFS player pool, coming in at $9,400 on FanDuel and $8,100 on DraftKings. At that price, is Jackson a value for your NFL DFS lineups? Or are you better off with a lower-priced quarterback for your NFL DFS picks like Kyler Murray or Josh Allen?

Which other players taking the field on Sunday should be in your NFL DFS stacks? Before finalizing any NFL daily Fantasy picks for Week 1, be sure to check out the latest NFL DFS advice, stacks and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy guru Mike McClure, who has nearly $2 million in career DFS winnings.

He’s crushed his NFL DFS picks in 2019, finishing as high as the top 1 percent of tournaments on DraftKings and returning as much as 40x return in some higher-stakes tournaments. He then continued his roll in the postseason, cashing on every single lineup he posted for the divisional round. Anyone who followed him saw some huge returns.

Now, he has turned his attention to the Week 1 Sunday DFS player pool and locked in his top daily Fantasy football picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NFL DFS picks for Week 1

One of McClure’s top NFL DFS picks for the Sunday main slate in Week 1 is Falcons receiver Julio Jones at $8,200 on FanDuel and $7,700 on DraftKings. Jones has put together six consecutive seasons with at least 1,300 yards receiving and has a staggering 58 100-yard receiving games in his career.

Jones ranked second in the NFL in targets (156) and deep targets (31) in 2019 and should continue to be the focal point of the Falcons’ offense in 2020. With Calvin Ridley coming into his own, Jones is benefiting because it’s becoming more difficult to bracket the superstar with multiple defenders. Look for Jones to get plenty of opportunities against a Seahawks defense that ranked 27th against the pass in 2019.

Part of McClure’s optimal NFL DFS strategy also includes rostering 49ers tight end George Kittle at $8,000 on FanDuel and $7,200 on DraftKings. The Iowa product has cemented his status as one of the league’s most talented tight ends with back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving seasons. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo targeted him at least seven times in all but two games last year, so you can feel confident about him being a big part of the game plan on Sunday.

McClure is featuring Kittle in his NFL DFS lineups on Sunday because of his juicy matchup against the Cardinals. Kittle put up a strong 6-79-1 receiving line against Arizona last season. That was no surprise because opposing tight ends feasted against this defense last year, as the Cardinals ranked last in the league in receiving yards given up (1,148) and touchdowns conceded (16) to the position.

How to set Week 1 DFS lineups

McClure is also targeting a player who could go off for massive numbers on Sunday because of a dream matchup. This pick could be the difference between winning your tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing.
