Pelicans vs. Trail Blazers: How to watch, schedule, live stream info, game time, TV channel

Through 3 Quarters

The New Orleans Pelicans were the heavy favorites here for a reason. After three quarters it’s looking more and more like their high-powered offense is just too much for the Portland Trail Blazers as New Orleans lead 101-76.

The Pelicans have been led by shooting guard CJ McCollum, who so far has shot 5-for-10 from downtown and has recorded 23 points, seven dimes and four boards. One thing to keep an eye out for is Jonas Valanciunas’ foul situation as he currently sits at four.

Center Drew Eubanks has led the way so far for Portland, as he has 20 points along with five rebounds.

This is the most points New Orleans has had yet this year going into the fourth quarter.

What to Know

The Portland Trail Blazers’ road trip will continue as they head to Smoothie King Center at 8 p.m. ET Thursday to face off against the New Orleans Pelicans. New Orleans should still be feeling good after a victory, while the Trail Blazers will be looking to right the ship.

Portland had lost two consecutive heartbreakers to the Oklahoma City Thunder, and they left with a heavy heart again on Tuesday. Portland fell just short of Oklahoma City by a score of 98-94. Portland was up 82-67 at the end of the third quarter but couldn’t hold on to the lead. Point guard Kris Dunn had a pretty forgettable game, finishing with only seven points on 3-for-15 shooting and turning the ball over four times in his 30 minutes on the court.

A well-balanced attack led the Pelicans over the Sacramento Kings every single quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. New Orleans captured a comfortable 123-109 win. Center Jaxson Hayes and shooting guard CJ McCollum were among the main playmakers for New Orleans as the former posted a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds and the latter had 23 points and five assists.

Portland is the clear underdog, so they’re hoping it’s the size of the fight that determines this one. Those sticking with them against the spread have guts, to put it politely, as the squad has let down bettors in their past three games.

Portland is now 27-52 while New Orleans sits at 35-44. A pair of stats to keep an eye on: The Trail Blazers are stumbling into the matchup with the fourth most fouls per game in the league, having accrued 20.9 on average. To make matters even worse for Portland, New Orleans enters the contest with 20.4 fouls drawn per game on average, good for fourth best in the league. So the cards are definitely stacked in the Pelicans’ favor.
