Rochelle McKee Awarded All Australia Badge

Netball Australia congratulates Rochelle McKee on becoming the most recent umpire to receive her All Australia (AA) Badge, Australia’s highest netball umpiring accreditation.

McKee was awarded the accreditation last month after umpiring her first game of Suncorp Super Netball in Round 3 of the 2019 competition.

Umpiring for pocket money throughout her high school years and then taking her career further after she finished playing netball in 2016, Rochelle last year umpired the Deakin University Australian Netball League and also at the National Netball Championships the past two years.

Netball Australia’s AA Badge reflects excellence in umpiring, where professionalism, accuracy of decisions, reaction time between infringements and decisions, levels of communication and umpiring techniques are all given the closest possible scrutiny.

Netball Australia High Performance Umpire Manager Jacqui Jashari said McKee’s AA accreditation reflects the hard work and dedication she has committed to her umpiring career.

“Rochelle has worked extremely hard and taken all the opportunities provided to her through Netball WA and Netball Australia’s Emerging Talent and High Performance Umpire Programs,” Jashari said.

“The AA badge is an award of umpiring excellence in Australia and Rochelle is an exemplary role model for all aspiring umpires across the country wanting to reach this level – Netball Australia is very excited to have her join the High Performance Umpiring team.”

McKee is thrilled to be joining the All Australia Badge umpiring list.

“I’m honoured to get the opportunity to be involved in the best netball competition in the world as an AA umpire,” she said.

“I’m really thankful to have been involved in Netball Australia’s Emerging Talent Pathway for umpires which has provided many development opportunities that I would not have otherwise had.”

McKee has progressed through the Netball Australia Umpire Accreditation System, which is an educational pathway based on Netball Australia umpiring courses, ongoing professional development and practical umpiring instruction through an experienced umpire coach system.
