19-year-old Rybakina, ranked World No.134, moved into her first-ever WTA semifinal following her quarterfinal victory over two-time Libéma Open finalist Kirsten Flipkens.
Veronika Kudermetova has won her only previous meeting with Alison Riske, which came in the first round of Tianjin last year. Kudermetova is also into her first-ever WTA semifinal; she had reached four other quarterfinals at WTA events this season.
Riske seeks a trip to the second grass-court final of her career, alongside a Nottingham runner-up showing in 2016. The American, who won her sole WTA singles title to date at Tianjin in 2014, reached the quarterfinals in her ‘s-Hertogenbosch debut last year.
