Cape Town – Former world No 1 James Anderson will continue his rehabilitation at a specialist pace bowling camp in South Africa next month.

According to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) official website, Anderson will be joined by fellow seamers Chris Wood, Olly Stone, Craig Overton and Ollie Robinson on the camp in Potchefstroom between December 1-14.

Anderson and Wood will fly to South Africa with the aim of being available for selection for the upcoming tour of South Africa.

Anderson only bowled four overs in the first Ashes Test against Australia earlier this year before suffering from an calf injury and has been out since.

England wicketkeeper batsman Jonny Bairstow will also be in Potchefstroom, supported by former England batsman and coach Jonathan Trott, with the aim of returning to England’s Test squad.

In addition to this camp, the ECB have encouraged white ball players to play periods of franchise cricket, such as Liam Livingstone, who is currently playing for the Cape Town Blitz in the ongoing Mzansi Super League.

The Proteas’ welcome England to South African shores in a four-Test series, starting with on December 26 at Centurion.

There will also be three ODIs and three T20Is played during the tour.
