The Syracuse Orange and the Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes are set to square off in an ACC matchup at 1 p.m. ET March 5 at Carrier Dome. Miami (Fla.) will be strutting in after a victory while the Orange will be stumbling in from a defeat.

‘Cuse came up short against the North Carolina Tar Heels on Monday, falling 88-79. Forward Cole Swider did his best for ‘Cuse, finishing with 36 points (a whopping 46% of their total). Meanwhile, while not quite a landslide, the game between Miami (Fla.) and the Boston College Eagles on Wednesday was still a pretty decisive one as Miami (Fla.) wrapped it up with an 81-70 win on the road. The Hurricanes’ guard Isaiah Wong looked sharp as he shot 5-for-9 from beyond the arc and finished with 27 points and seven boards.

Barring any buzzer beaters, the Orange are expected to win a tight contest Saturday. Those sticking with them against the spread have guts, to put it politely, as the squad has let down bettors in their past four games.

Miami (Fla.) has experienced some struggles of their own as they have allowed their opponents to shoot 46.70% from the floor on average, which is the 13th highest shooting percentage allowed in college basketball. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
