While the CAF Africa Cup of Nations didn't bring Egypt the eighth title they craved, their path to the final in Gabon saw them climb to 23rd in the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking to see them as the top-ranked side in Africa.
The most significant changes for the February edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking arrive courtesy of matches played at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
With only 12 A matches played since the final ranking of 2016, there are few big changes in the January edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, with Argentina, Brazil and Germany still holding first, second and third place respectively.
Despite the shifts up and down the ranking, Argentina and Belgium remain fixed in first and second place respectively, cementing their positions at the summit of the World Ranking for another month.
The teams that made up the top ten in September maintained their positions for the December FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking to ensure that they ring in the new year at the top of the table.
In a month of little international action, there was little movement at the top of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, with Costa Rica and Sierra Leone achieving all-time high positions of 15th and 50th respectively.
With very little action, there was minimal change on the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking. However, Senegal did leap into the top 50 for the first time in over two years and Afghanistan also made ground.
