The fighters have weighed in and all that’s left to do is make the walk and fight. WBC and lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury defends his belt against mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte Saturday at Wembley Stadium in London (ESPN+ PPV, 2 p.m. ET with prelims at 1 p.m. on ESPN+).
Fury (31-0-1, 22 KOs), 33, of Manchester, England, is coming off two stoppage victories over Deontay Wilder to close their trilogy. Fury had been expected to face unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed championship, but when a deal for Whyte and Anthony Joshua (who had a rematch clause for Usyk) to step aside and allow Fury-Usyk to happen fell through, Fury vs. Whyte was made. This will be Fury’s first fight in England in almost four years.
Whyte (28-2, 19), 34, of Jamaica but fighting out of London, has been the WBC No. 1 contender for a long time. He lost that status in a KO defeat to Alexander Povetkin in 2020 but regained it with a stoppage victory in their rematch.
“If I can’t look like Muhammad Ali against this guy, then I’m in the wrong [profession],” Fury said during a March news conference. “I will chop him to bits. Not a problem. I will smash his face right in. You’re going to see a boxing masterclass. You’re going to see the difference in levels.”
A U.K. record of 94,000 fans for a boxing event is expected at Wembley.

The Fury-Whyte main card broadcast will begin at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN+ pay-per-view. The PPV card includes five fights. The preliminary card will air live on ESPN+ starting at 1 p.m. The pay-per-view event will also be shown in movie theaters across the U.S. and on all major cable and satellite PPV channels.
