Who’s Playing

New York @ Utah

Current Records: New York 24-29; Utah 32-21

What to Know

The New York Knicks will hit the road for the second straight game as they head to Vivint Arena at 9 p.m. ET on Monday. The Utah Jazz will be strutting in after a victory while the Knicks will be stumbling in from a loss.

New York fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Los Angeles Lakers this past Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 122-115. New York was up 71-56 at the end of the half but couldn’t hold on to the lead. Their defeat shouldn’t obscure the performances of power forward Julius Randle, who posted a double-double on 32 points and 16 boards in addition to seven dimes, and small forward R.J. Barrett, who had 36 points and five assists along with eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Utah made easy work of the Brooklyn Nets this past Friday and carried off a 125-102 win. With Utah ahead 68-47 at the half, the matchup was all but over already. Their shooting guard Donovan Mitchell did his thing and shot 6-for-7 from beyond the arc and finished with 27 points and six assists.

New York is expected to lose this next one by 7. Those betting on them against the spread shouldn’t have high expectations for them since the squad is 5-12 ATS when expected to lose.

The Knicks are now 24-29 while the Jazz sit at 32-21. A couple offensive numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: New York has only been able to knock down 43.60% percent of their shots, which is the fourth lowest field goal percentage in the league. Utah’s offense has more to brag about, as they they enter the game with 113.6 points per game on average, which is the best in the league. So the cards are definitely stacked in their favor.
