Watch Pistons vs. Hornets: How to live stream, TV channel, start time for Friday’s NBA game

Through 3 Quarters

Only one more quarter stands between the Charlotte Hornets and the win they were favored to collect going into this night. Three quarters in and their offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating the Detroit Pistons 110-89.

Point guard LaMelo Ball has led the way so far for the Hornets, as he has shot 6-for-8 from downtown and has posted a double-double on 26 points and 12 assists along with five rebounds. This also makes it three games in a row in which Ball has had at least three steals.

Detroit has been led by small forward Saddiq Bey, who so far has 20 points in addition to four boards.

This is the first time Charlotte has been ahead going into the fourth quarter in the past seven games.

What to Know

The Charlotte Hornets have enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they must head out on the road. They will take on the Detroit Pistons at 7 p.m. ET Friday at Little Caesars Arena. Bragging rights belong to Charlotte for now since they’re up 17-5 across their past 22 matchups.

The game between the Hornets and the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday was not a total blowout, but with Charlotte falling 121-109 at home, it was darn close to turning into one. Charlotte’s loss came about despite a quality game from point guard LaMelo Ball, who shot 5-for-10 from beyond the arc and finished with 33 points, five dimes and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Detroit was expected to have a tough go of it on Thursday, and that’s exactly how things played out. Their bruising 132-107 defeat to the Memphis Grizzlies might stick with them for a while. Power forward Jerami Grant (20 points) was the top scorer for Detroit.

Charlotte is the favorite in this one, with an expected 6.5-point margin of victory. Those sticking with them against the spread have guts, to put it politely, as the squad has let down bettors in their past four games.

The Hornets are now 28-28 while the Pistons sit at 12-43. A couple offensive stats to keep an eye on: Charlotte enters the matchup with 113.3 points per game on average, good for third best in the league. Less enviably, Detroit has only been able to knock down 42% percent of their shots, which is the second lowest field goal percentage in the league. So the cards are definitely stacked against Detroit.
