Who’s Playing

Pacific @ Southern California

Current Records: Pacific 7-15; Southern California 19-4

What to Know

The Pacific Tigers are on the road again Tuesday and play against the #21 Southern California Trojans at 10 p.m. ET Feb. 8 at Galen Center. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they’ll have plenty of motivation to get the ‘W.’

The Tigers were within striking distance but couldn’t close the gap this past Saturday as they fell 70-64 to the Pepperdine Waves. The top scorer for Pacific was guard Alphonso Anderson (17 points).

Meanwhile, USC came up short against the Arizona Wildcats this past Saturday, falling 72-63. Guard Drew Peterson just could not get things rolling his way, playing for 34 minutes but putting up just five points on 1-for-13 shooting.

Pacific is the clear underdog, so they’re hoping it’s the size of the fight that determines this one. Those betting on them against the spread shouldn’t have high expectations for them since the squad is 2-6 ATS when expected to lose.

The losses put Pacific at 7-15 and USC at 19-4. A couple stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Tigers have only been able to knock down 41.30% percent of their shots, which is the 41st lowest field goal percentage in college basketball. The Trojans’ defense has more to brag about, as they they have been holding their opponents to a field goal percentage of 37.80%, which places them 10th in college basketball. So the cards are definitely stacked in their favor.
