What to Know
The #25 Xavier Musketeers and the #24 Connecticut Huskies will face off in a Big East clash at 7 p.m. ET Feb. 11 at Cintas Center. The Musketeers will be seeking to avenge the 80-72 loss they suffered the last time these two teams played Feb. 13 of last year.
Xavier was close but no cigar on Wednesday as they fell 73-71 to the Seton Hall Pirates. The losing side was boosted by guard Paul Scruggs, who had 21 points and seven assists along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, the Huskies picked up an 80-72 win over the Marquette Golden Eagles on Tuesday. UConn relied on the efforts of guard Tyrese Martin, who posted a double-double on 18 points and 15 boards, and forward Adama Sanogo, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 boards.
Connecticut’s victory lifted them to 16-6 while Xavier’s defeat dropped them down to 16-7. We’ll see if UConn can repeat their recent success or if Xavier bounces back and reverse their fortune.
