Youngest Starting QBs in Super Bowl History

When Jalen Hurts takes his first snap for the Eagles during Super Bowl LVII, he will become the seventh-youngest quarterback to start a Super Bowl. At just over 24 years and six months old, Hurts will join a small group of signal-callers to play in the Big Game this early in their careers.

Dan Marino remains the youngest quarterback to start in a Super Bowl at 23 years and 127 days, while Ben Roethlisberger is the only other QB to start the game at age 23, doing so 28 days short of his 24th birthday.

From there, David Woodley started for the Dolphins two years before Marino in 1983 at 24 years and 97 days old. In 2019 and 2020, respectively, Jared Goff and Patrick Mahomes joined the top-five youngest, as Goff was 24 years and 112 days old and Mahomes was 24 years and 138 days old.

Finally, right ahead of Hurts is Tom Brady, whose first Super Bowl appearance in 2002 came at the age of 24 years and 184 days old. Next on the list is Hurts, who will be 24 years and 189 days old, at No. 7.

Rounding out the top 10 is Drew Bledsoe, who was 24 years and 347 days old when he started for the Patriots in 1997, and both Russell Wilson and Joe Burrow, who were each 25 years and 65 days old during their first Super Bowl appearance.
