Conor Benn has said he expects an apology from critics as UK Anti-Doping continues its investigation into his failed drug test.
Benn’s bout with Chris Eubank Jr. was called off last week after he tested positive for the banned substance clomifene, a fertility drug for women which can boost testosterone levels in men.
“I hope the apology is as loud as the disrespect,” Benn said on Instagram.
If found guilty of a doping violation, Benn could face a suspension of two to four years.
The drugs test was administered by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA), a third party hired by Eubank Jr. and Benn to provide extra testing for their bout. An investigation is ongoing.
The fight was set to revive one of Britain’s biggest boxing rivalries — their fathers, Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn, met twice for world titles in 1990 and 1993.
