What to Know

After a four-game homestand, the Toronto Raptors will be on the road. They will take on the Orlando Magic at 7 p.m. ET Friday at Amway Center. The Raptors won’t have the home-court advantage, but they do enjoy an 11.5-point advantage in the spread.

Toronto’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday was close at halftime, but Toronto turned on the heat in the second half with 63 points. Everything went Toronto’s way against Minnesota as they made off with a 125-102 victory. The oddsmakers were on Toronto’s side, but they didn’t give the team enough credit as the margin was unexpectedly wide. Toronto’s shooting guard Gary Trent Jr. was one of the most active players for the squad, shooting 6-for-8 from downtown and finishing with 29 points.

Meanwhile, Orlando ended up a good deal behind the Washington Wizards when they played on Wednesday, losing 127-110. The Magic’s loss shouldn’t obscure the performances of point guard Markelle Fultz, who had 19 points and seven assists, and small forward Franz Wagner, who had 28 points in addition to five boards.

Toronto’s win lifted them to 44-32 while Orlando’s defeat dropped them down to an irreparable 20-57. We’ll see if the Raptors can repeat their recent success or if Orlando bounces back and reverse their fortune.
