Current Records: Orlando 13-45; Denver 31-25

What to Know

After two games on the road, the Denver Nuggets are heading back home. They will take on the Orlando Magic at 9 p.m. ET on Monday at Ball Arena. Coming off of a win even when the odds were against them, Denver has to be feeling especially confident now that the spread is in their favor.

The Nuggets escaped with a win this past Saturday against the Toronto Raptors by the margin of a single free throw, 110-109. Denver’s center Nikola Jokic did his thing and dropped a double-double on 28 points and 15 boards along with six assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which Jokic has had at least 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Orlando was expected to have a tough go of it this past Saturday, and that’s exactly how things played out. They suffered a grim 132-105 defeat to the Phoenix Suns. Orlando was down 100-78 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. The losing side was boosted by shooting guard Jalen Suggs, who posted a double-double on 20 points and ten dimes in addition to six rebounds.

This next contest looks promising for Denver, who are favored by a full 11.5 points. They are currently four-for-four against the spread in their most recent games, a trend bettors might want to take into account.

The Nuggets are now 31-25 while the Magic sit at 13-45. Two offensive numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Denver comes into the game boasting the third highest field goal percentage in the league at 47.30%. On the other end of the spectrum, Orlando has only been able to knock down 43.30% percent of their shots, which is the third lowest field goal percentage in the league. We’ll see if Denver’s 4% advantage translates to a win.
