Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes got another significant addition to the nation’s top college football recruiting class in the 2025 cycle Sunday, getting a commitment from safety Faheem Delane, the No. 52 overall prospect in the 2025 ESPN 300.

Delane, a standout defensive back at Maryland’s Good Counsel High School, picked Ohio State over LSU and Oregon following an official visit with the Buckeyes over the weekend. He is ESPN’s second-ranked recruit in the state of Maryland and the No. 4 safety in the 2025 class.

He becomes the latest member of the star-studded class the Buckeyes are assembling in the latest recruiting cycle. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound defender represents Ohio State’s ninth pledge from inside the top 150 of the ESPN 300 in 2025, and Delane joins what has emerged as one of the strongest defensive classes nationally.

Along with Delane, the Buckeyes hold commitments from the top two cornerbacks in the 2025 class in Na’eem Offord (No. 6 overall) and Devin Sanchez (No. 12), as well as pledges from defensive end London Merritt (No. 36) and outside linebacker Tarvos Alford (No. 59).
