Pistons vs. Celtics: How to watch, schedule, live stream info, game time, TV channel

Through 3 Quarters

The Boston Celtics were the heavy favorites here for a reason. After three quarters it’s looking more and more like their high-powered offense is just too much for the Detroit Pistons as Boston lead 78-56.

The Celtics have been relying on center Robert Williams III, who has posted a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards in addition to four blocks, and small forward Jayson Tatum, who has 24 points along with nine rebounds. Detroit has been led by small forward Hamidou Diallo, who so far has dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

Detroit has lost 94% of their games in which they were down going into the fourth quarter. Barring a miraculous turnaround, this contest will end the same way.

What to Know

The Detroit Pistons are getting right back to it as they host the Boston Celtics at 7 p.m. ET Feb. 4 at Little Caesars Arena. Boston will be strutting in after a victory while the Pistons will be stumbling in from a loss.

The game between Detroit and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday was not a total blowout, but with Detroit falling 128-117 at home, it was darn close to turning into one. Despite the defeat, Detroit had strong showings from small forward Saddiq Bey, who almost dropped a triple-double on 21 points, 13 rebounds, and eight dimes, and point guard Frank Jackson, who shot 5-for-11 from beyond the arc and finished with 25 points.

Meanwhile, Boston didn’t have too much breathing room in their contest with the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 113-107 win. Point guard Marcus Smart was the offensive standout of the matchup for the Celtics, picking up 22 points and six assists.

The Pistons are the clear underdogs, so they’re hoping it’s the size of the fight that determines this one. Now might not be the best time to take Detroit against the spread since they’ve let down bettors for the past two consecutive games.

Detroit is now 12-39 while Boston sits at 28-25. A couple numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Detroit has only been able to knock down 42.30% percent of their shots, which is the second lowest field goal percentage in the league. The Celtics’ defense has more to brag about, as they they have been holding their opponents to a field goal percentage of 43.60%, which places them second in the league. So the cards are definitely stacked in their favor.
