Spurs vs. 76ers: How to watch NBA online, TV channel, live stream info, game time

Through 1 Quarter

The Philadelphia 76ers are on the road but looking no worse for wear. After one quarter neither squad has the game in the bag, but Philadelphia leads 29-23 over the San Antonio Spurs. The Sixers have enjoyed the tag-team combination of shooting guard Charlie Brown and center Joel Embiid. The former has five points, while the latter has six points and two assists along with three rebounds and one block.

Both the 76ers and San Antonio suffered losses in their previous contests, but Philadelphia is closer to making up for it. Philadelphia is out front, but they can’t get complacent.

What to Know

The San Antonio Spurs haven’t won a matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers since Dec. 17 of 2018, but they’ll be looking to end the drought Sunday. The Spurs’ homestand continues as they prepare to take on Philadelphia at 7 p.m. ET Jan. 23 at AT&T Center. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

The contest between San Antonio and the Brooklyn Nets this past Friday was not particularly close, with San Antonio falling 117-102. A silver lining for San Antonio was the play of point guard Dejounte Murray, who posted a triple-double on 25 points, 12 rebounds, and ten dimes. Murray now has nine triple-doubles this year.

Meanwhile, the point spread favored the Sixers this past Friday, but luck did not. They were just a bucket shy of a victory and fell 102-101 to the Los Angeles Clippers. Philadelphia was up 54-40 at the end of the half but couldn’t hold on to the lead. Philadelphia’s defeat came about despite a quality game from center Joel Embiid, who dropped a double-double on 40 points and 13 boards along with six assists. The game made it Embiid’s fourth in a row with at least 32 points.

The Spurs ended up a good deal behind the Sixers when they played in the teams’ previous meeting earlier this month, losing 119-100. Maybe San Antonio will have more luck at home instead of on the road? Watch the contest and check back on CBS Sports for all the details.
