Who’s Playing

Miami @ Chicago

Current Records: Miami 49-28; Chicago 45-32

What to Know

The Miami Heat are 17-5 against the Chicago Bulls since January of 2016, and they’ll have a chance to extend that success Saturday. Miami will take on Chicago at 8 p.m. ET at United Center after having had a few days off. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous games.

The Heat were able to grind out a solid win over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, winning 106-98. Miami’s center Bam Adebayo did his thing and almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 12 rebounds, and eight dimes.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Chicago ultimately got the result they were hoping for on Thursday with a 135-130 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. Small forward DeMar DeRozan went supernova for Chicago as he had 50 points and six assists along with five boards. Deebo’s night made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 32 points. DeRozan’s points were the most he has had all season.

Barring any buzzer beaters, the Heat are expected to win a tight contest. They are currently two-for-two against the spread in their most recent games, a trend bettors might want to take into account.

Miami is now 49-28 while the Bulls sit at 45-32. A couple numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Miami have been holding their opponents to a field goal percentage of 44.50%, which places them fourth in the league. But Chicago enters the game with a 48.10% field goal percentage, good for second best in the league. We’ll see which of these strengths — offense or defense — will win out.
